"Iran will announce its position according to its foreign policy towards Palestine and against the Zionist regime's atrocities in the Muslim world at the Extraordinary Islamic Summit in Jakarta", Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters upon his arrival in Jakarta on Sunday.
Since last October, a rise in Palestinian frustrations has been attributed to the insistence of extremist Jewish settlers - often accompanied by Israeli security forces - of forcing their way into East Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, Islam's third holiest site.
Head of states and governments of OIC member countries were scheduled to present in the extraordinary summit, the first of a kind to particularly discuss breakthrough solutions to settle Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif issues.
Nadeem expressed the confidence that the Jakarta Declaration, to be issued at the conclusion of the summit, would prove a milestone in the independence of Palestine.
The summit is aimed at addressing the developments in Al-Quds Al-Shareef and the scheme by Israel to change the demographic reality of the city and erase its Islamic and Arab identity by building and expanding settlements.
The Egyptian top diplomat will lead the Egyptian delegation to the summit which will be held on the 6th and 7th of March.
"Indonesia invited all related parties, and this makes us able to partake in efforts to support Palestine in the negotiation process", Soukry said.
