Jakarta, along with Surabaya in East Java, now has a one-stop building in which people can process documents ranging from identity cards and passports to business permits.
Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat inaugurated the Public Service Mall located on Jl. H. Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday morning.
The event was attended by Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly, Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Asman Abnur and Agrarian and Spatial Minister Sofyan Djalil.
"There are 12 floors here but three floors are particularly used for services. Other floors are our back offices," said Djarot as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that one more floor could be used for services in the future.
With the inauguration, the Jakarta One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) office, which was previously located in City Hall, has been moved to the mall.
The services in the Public Service Mall include those from the Civil Registry and Population Agency, the Jakarta Tax and Levy Board, the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), the Jakarta Police, the Customs and Excise Directorate General, the Immigration Directorate General and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
Aside from services from the offices, express services and those for disabled people are also available.
Last Friday, Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini inaugurated a similar facility on Jl. Tunjungan, Genteng, which became the first public service mall in the country. (agn)
