Jakarta Biennale 2017 is set to be held in several museums across Jakarta between Nov. 4 and Dec. 11.
Among the venues are Gudang Sarinah Ekosistem in South Jakarta, the Taman Prasasti Museum in Central Jakarta, and the Jakarta History Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, the Puppet Museum and the Textile Museum in West Jakarta.
The collaboration between the annual event and the museums aims to bring artworks closer to a larger audience.

Themed "Jiwa" (Souls), the biennale seeks to present something that is unusual but meaningful as an energy, spirit and motivation, said the curator Annissa Gultom on Tuesday as reported by Antara news agency.
In addition to exhibitions, the event will also begin the publishing of a series of books of critical writings on Indonesian art history today. (dan/kes)
