Police caught him in action as they were patrolling the Kalibaru area, which is notorious for brawling.
"We have seized evidence in the form of a 60-centimeter wood-covered samurai sword, hidden by the perpetrator under his shirt, tucked under his waist," Supriyanto said.
The commissioner added that the police will continue to monitor several locations in the Kalibaru area to prevent criminal activities.
"We will continue to reinforce nighttime operations to prevent public disorderly conduct such as theft, drug dealing and brawls," Supriyanto said.
The boy has been charged with carrying a sharp weapon without a license, which has a maximum penalty of 10 years' imprisonment.
