Passengers had the flight from hell when turbulence buffeted the plane so badly that six people had to be taken to hospital.
The cabin was littered with cushions, food and drink. It was unknown if the red liquid pictured on the seat was blood, red wine, or sauce.
The flight attendant said a male passenger didn't fasten his seatbelt and was sent airborne in the violent turbulence, hitting his head on the ceiling of the plane.
Pictures floated on social media and one that has caught everyone's eye is that of a blood-stained seat, believed to have been caused by a passenger who was terribly injured.
The Boeing 777 was en route from Jakarta, Indonesia, to Bangkok, Thailand, carrying 72 passengers and 12 crew when it was hit by severe turbulence.
The Facebook account was reportedly deleted on Tuesday, some time before Thai Airways President Charamporn Jotikasthira released an official statement.
"I grabbed AsiaLilly and cuddled her and told her we had hit a raincloud so it was going to feel like a rollercoaster".
Five cabin crew members were also injured.
"[It] broke my heart when she said "mummy I'm scared!"'"
Airline staffer Kru P'Birth posted photos on Facebook, showing the chaotic aftermath.
"The company apologizes to passengers who were involved in the incident", the statement read, reported News Ltd.
Despite turbulence being a frequent occurrence in worldwide skies, the airline apologised to passengers and said they will cover the cost of medical treatment for passengers and staff injured.
